Located In Southern Iowa, in Decatur County, Weldon Creek Outfitters LLC has built a strong reputation for quality hunts over the years. The many thousands of acres of corn, soybean and hay fields here draw and keep trophy whitetail deer in the area. It is also great feeding and nesting ground for wild turkeys.
We offer bow, muzzleloader, and shotgun slug hunting. Our hunts are semi-guided. Although, most hunters bring their own stands, we do have stands positioned. Our guides are very knowledgeable about the wildlife and terrain that you will be hunting. They spend all year, scouting deer habitat. We own and lease the ground you will hunt on, which gives our hunters a safer hunt, because we know who is hunting. Our goal at Weldon Creek Outfitters LLC is to make your hunt a memorable experience. We understand the pleasure our hunters receive in getting away from it all, so we strive to make your hunt, the best you have ever had. Whether it be trophy deer, wild turkey, good food or comfortable lodging. We average a 90% rebooking each year. Repeat customers are the best gage of trust and satisfaction there is.

Whitetail Bow Season:
Bow season starts the first weekend of October and runs through the first Saturday of December. It starts again around the 20th of December and runs through January 10th. The peak of the rut should occur around November 7th, plus or minus a week. Bait is not legal in Iowa but the use of decoys is, as long as there are no moving parts.

Whitetail Shotgun & Muzzleloader Season:
There are two shotgun seasons. The first season usually starts the first Saturday in December and is five days long. The second season starts the second weekend of Dec. and is 9 days. You must use rifled slugs in shotguns. Shotgun hunts are usually guided. Late muzzleloader season runs from the day after shotgun season ends and runs thru Jan 10.

License Information:
Iowa is a lottery draw state with applications done by phone in May for deer and January for turkey. If not drawn you will receive a preference point. In May, you may purchase a preference point instead of applying for a license. Hunters born after JAN. 1, 1972, must have a Hunter's safety Certificate.
